After a 9-month long federal freeze of Game development, Chinese regulators are finally giving permission to domestic developers to publish within the country. The Chinese video game market took a huge hit when regulators froze approvals of games for the purpose of public mental health.
Wai So Dim, a Chinese authority, had this to say at the beginning of freeze, "Games very bad for chirdren, drugs for brain. Stop games so kids not be so razy, go to correge, become doctor."
Approvals are still limited however, as the regulators have increased content restrictions most of which had to do with minors. But the damage has been done as thousands of small developers have already closed their doors, but authorities were unconcerned, "Tord you game bad, waste time make games, make things for country, China # 1!"
