Randy Pitchford quits Gearbox to pursue Magic Career
Updated: Jun 3, 2022
With the purchase of Hollywood's Magic Castle (A magic shop) complete, Randy Pitchford has announced that he will retiring from his role as president and CEO of Gearbox Entertainment Company to pursue his dream of becoming a magician.
The longtime figurehead and leader of Gearbox made his announcement with a display of his magical talents. He poofed himself onto the stage whilst donning an iconic magician's hat and holding the iconic black and white wand. He took off his hat, tapped it, and reached in to pull out a standing mic. With a big, toothy, smile he said the following "I'm so excited to announce that I will soon start pursuing my life-long dream of being an illusionist. It has always been a passion of mine and I think now more than ever is the perfect time to transition to my dream job."
Pitchford proceeded to pull out a sheet from out of his sleeve and held it out over a part of the stage. He pulled back to reveal a large line of games. "The team under my leadership made lots of hits from Duke Nuke 'Em to Battleborn. All very good games. But my career in game development has come to an end." Pitchford then re-covered the games with the sheet, and then pulled it back to reveal a poster ad for an upcoming show. "Now instead of fooling people into buying my games I can just fool them and get money! No more having to go around and actually make something worth buying!" he said with glee. "Tickets for my show are available now! Don't miss it!" Pitchford then poofed himself off stage, though crashing and stumbling was heard in the background.
At the time of writing, tickets for the show remain unsold.
