Sega Announces new Sonic game: Sonic, Speed of the Wild

Sega has recently released the first trailer for Sonic Frontiers, a brand-new original Sonic Game. The Crystal Golem Gazette had the opportunity to speak to a Sega Representative about the upcoming game.

"We're very proud and excited to bring you Breath o... I mean Sonic Frontiers. After doing some market research we realized we need to do something to please our longtime fans. And it became obvious that what fans want is an open-world Sonic Game. Sonic has never been in this kind of environment before so we're really excited to have him go through all the stereotypical tropes found in this genre such as towers for map access, crafting, a large but mostly empty map, and repetitive and uninspired collection quests."

"What? Fans want a another 2D platformer? That's not what our executives say. Listen, people like sonic, people like open world games like Elden Ring, put both together and we have a surefire hit! Sega is about following trends in the gaming industry, what trend would we be following by making a 2D platformer?
